Frequently asked questions

Is this the official WhatsApp Business API?
No. LedgerLens connects as a linked device (like WhatsApp Web) to a number you control. This is not Meta's official Business API, and WhatsApp may restrict or ban the linked number. Always use a dedicated SIM — never a personal or primary business number. If a number is banned, link a new one, add it to the same groups, and your groups re-map automatically with no history lost.
Will it post messages in my clients’ groups?
Never automatically. Reactions are off by default. The only messages sent are the “Ask in group” replies a staff member clicks — limited to 20 per group per day.
How accurate is it?
Every screenshot is read by AI and then validated in code: the UTR must be 12 digits, the amount and date must make sense, the payment must show success, and every key field needs high confidence. Anything that fails a check goes to your Review queue instead of the ledger — wrong amounts are not silently auto-approved.
Can it detect fake or edited screenshots?
It flags suspected edits, but a screenshot is never treated as proof. The real control is bank reconciliation: screenshots with no matching bank entry are surfaced prominently as possible fake, failed or other-account payments.
What about duplicates?
The same image posted twice is caught instantly. A re-sent screenshot with the same UTR is caught by UTR. Both are marked duplicate, never counted twice.
Which banks’ statements work?
Any CSV or XLSX statement. You map the columns once per bank and it is remembered. UTRs are extracted from HDFC, SBI, ICICI, Axis, Kotak and other common narration formats.
How is it priced?
A one-time licence — no subscription and no per-screenshot fees to us. Screenshots are read with your firm’s own Anthropic (Claude) API key, added once in Settings → API keys, so Anthropic bills you directly for exactly what you use (typically well under ₹1 per screenshot).
What if our AI key is missing or runs out of credit?
Nothing is dropped. New screenshots are still captured and stored; they are read automatically as soon as a working key is saved.
Where is my data stored?
In India. See the Security page for details.
